Clinical Approach - Psychologist Brisbane

Clinical Approach

Isobel’s therapeutic approach is to work alongside people as they explore their emotional experiences and navigate a way to make sense of the changes and challenges in their lives. The most important aspect of therapy for Isobel is that all clients feel safe, heard, and understood. I take a kind, empathetic, and warm approach to create a safe space, helping people feel able to explore their experiences. Isobel always endeavour to be genuine, honest, and fair to her clients and uphold your confidentiality. Isobel believes building a strong relationship is key to building trust and working towards healing and change.

To assist her clients, Isobel use a variety of clinical and therapeutic techniques which are drawn from attachment theory, ecological systems theory, and interpersonal neurobiology. Isobel aims to get to know and gain an in-depth understanding of each client throughout the therapy process to create a tailored treatment approach. Isobel trusts that everyone can make a change and build deeper connections with themselves and others with the help of therapy.

Perinatal Mental Health

Over the past years, Isobel has became passionate about working in the perinatal space. Bringing a new life into the world brings about one of the biggest changes in most people’s lives and brings about many new experiences. Whether you’re having your first child or introducing a new sibling to your family, parenting can bring up many emotions and experiences for parents that can be unexpected and challenging. Isobel believes therapy can allow the space to build new and healthy relationship patterns and instil fulfillment and meaning even in difficult times. Isobel enjoys being able to support new parents at the beginning of this new journey to provide the best outcomes for them, their relationship with their child, and their child’s development. Isobel wants to help her clients create the future pathway they envision for their family.

Isobel’s experience in the perinatal space includes working at:
